Building confidence from behind the scenes
International Women’s Day is about celebrating milestones but also about recognising the women whose steady commitment, resilience and professionalism shape our workplaces every day.
At Trimco Group Turkey, our colleague Cigdem Yildirim has been part of that quiet strength since 2012. She began her journey as an Accounting Specialist and, over the past 14 years, has grown both professionally and personally within the company.
For her, this day carries real weight.
“It means a lot, especially in a time when being a woman can be difficult. We work to provide for ourselves and to secure our children’s future. Being in a work environment built on trust is incredibly valuable to me.”
Her story is not about dramatic turning points, but about consistency. About showing up, learning, and building confidence over time.
“I started my career here in accounting, and over the years I’ve had opportunities to develop in a culture that is open to learning. That has been my biggest motivation to stay. This journey has given me a strong sense of belonging and has contributed to both my professional and personal growth.”
Accounting is often described as a behind-the-scenes function. Yet behind the numbers lies responsibility, precision and impact.
“Even though accounting happens behind the scenes, it plays a critical role in enabling sound and accurate decisions. When we successfully close a complex financial period or solve a challenging discrepancy as a team, I feel a quiet but deep sense of pride. It creates clarity and confidence for the entire company.”
Through her work, she has become more aware of her own strengths.
“I am disciplined, organised and calm. This job has helped me use these traits more consciously and strengthen them.”
Her perspective as a woman — and as a mother of two — has also shaped how she collaborates.
“Being a woman, and especially a mother, brings a natural sense of care, attention to detail and a desire to create harmony. I approach collaboration with empathy and patience, always looking for solutions that work for everyone. My superpower is staying strong — as a woman and as a mother.”
Strength, in her case, is not loud. It is steady. It is consistent. It is built on patience and belief.
